REWIRED MIND

Why You Can't Think Your Way to Clarity

August 9, 2026 · Rewired Mind

"I need to figure out what I want first" kept me stuck for two years. I thought clarity was a prerequisite for action. It's the other way around.

Thinking is a simulation. And your simulations run on the same limited data you already have — that's why week three of "figuring it out" produces the same three options as day one, just with more anxiety attached.

Action generates new data

One real conversation, one rough draft, one trial week tells you more than a month of analysis, because reality answers questions your simulation can't.

The rule

If you've thought about a decision three times without new information arriving, thinking is done. The next step must be a physical action that generates information — send the email, book the call, build the ugly version.

Overthinking isn't a thinking problem. It's an information problem wearing a thinking costume. Go get new information.
